Cala Marinai Brasserie: Reviews & Ratings
Stopped in here for lunch today with the wife. We snagged a spot on the patio. The service here was impeccable even while they were super busy. We ordered a pizza and a full salad to share and it was great. Highly recommend this place over La Cambusa. Sky opened up halfway through the meal and they made room for us inside.
Food was delicious and it was great to sit inside an airconed restaurant with a view of the beach. It does get very busy at lunch time but we didn’t have to wait too long for food. The scialatielli with eggplant was very good.
Cala Marinai was easily one of our favorite dining experiences in Positano. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, setting the tone for a wonderful meal. The restaurant offers a perfect blend of authenticity and comfort, making it an ideal spot for visitors looking to enjoy high-quality Italian cuisine. The food was truly exceptional. I ordered the Diavola pizza, which was perfectly cooked with a deliciously crispy crust and just the right amount of spice. Each bite was packed with rich, bold flavors. The rest of my family opted for a variety of pasta dishes, and every plate was equally impressive. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with well-balanced sauces that highlighted the freshness of the ingredients. It was clear that great care went into both the preparation and presentation of each dish. Beyond the food, the overall dining experience was seamless. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. The ambiance was inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal while soaking in the charm of Positano. With its combination of excellent food, warm hospitality, and a lovely setting, Cala Marani is a restaurant we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Positano. It was a standout experience, and we would gladly return on our next trip.
Good food that are larger portions. Don't be afraid to share a pizza or sandwich for lunch. The lemon sorbetto is really nice on a sunny day in Positano. We ordered the smalls and they were still larger than most lemons we've seen back home.
Lemon gelato was amazing! My only complain is that the guy didn't make the Gelato in the order that i told. (Lemon first and then Cioccolato) But everything else was pretty good.
Cala dei Marinai is always a must for me whenever I’m in Positano. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes every visit a real pleasure. Their iconic lemon sorbet served inside the lemon is unforgettable – fresh, delicious, and so unique. I stop by both when I’m waiting for the ferry and when I want to enjoy a proper lunch or one of their amazing pizzas. Every time, the food and atmosphere make me feel right at home. Highly recommended!
To be honest with you, I don’t understand the unhappy reviewers. I ate all over Positano and Amalfi, and this place was the best. We had the Diavola pizza and the tagliatelle ragú plus gelatos for dessert. The pizza man literally sliced the fresh meat for the pizza moment of - that was so cool to witness. I was mad that I even hiked up the mountain for restaurants over Instagram reviews. The low rating might be best so the locals have their secret spot. Also, the prices were so reasonable, especially for a place on the coast. Anyone that has been here knows how expensive food can be. It’s easily accessible, literally steps away from the ferry. I would highly recommend!! - from a foodie.
Stopped here for breakfast well waiting for our ferry to Sorrento after a week in Positano. We throughly enjoyed our morning here and chatting with our server Marco!
